Week 8 - BEE Inspection...
it has been a rainy week...with this being our first year of beekeeping,
we didn't know how that would affect them.
we changed the REDUCER from the small entrance to the larger
one this week....just way too many BEE's coming in from that
little hole....and YES that is the only way into and out of the hive....
the purpose for keeping it on the smaller one is so that the BEE's
can grow in number to defend the hive.

the QUEEN from Ross' hive is on this frame....I thought I would
give you the entire picture first to see if you can spot her....

these get taken off with each inspection...
putting everything back together....you can see the SMOKER
in the bottom left of the picture....our dog JOY who loves the BEE's
right by my side.....the burr comb we removed on the rag and the
the top BROOD CHAMBER sitting on the lid.
Overall this week...we saw some action on 3 of the frames in the
top brood chamber of mine....but nothing on ross' hive...
the ADVENTURE continues!!!!
