We started this blog January 1 of 2012 with the goal to make as much as we could from the farm.....we had a wonderful year long journey and plan to continue on in 2013...not everyday as we did in 2012, but the spring, summer and fall should be quite active. Throughout this year, we will post recipes, planting of seeds and the garden, beekeeping, our successes and our mess ups....and keep you updated on our progress!
this is our 7th set...so they were born yesterday....the meat chickens will be taken to butcher in July and the layers will start laying in August 2012.....they will lay consistently until the end of 2013 and then we will butcher them for soup......so every 2 years we start the process all over and every 2 years I get a winter off of chores.
Is this your first time raising chickens? Your set up looks pretty nice!

ReplyDeleteMt Healthy Hatcheries in Mt Healty Ohio...got all 40 today alive and bright eyed.....they have always done a great job for us.
