today is our 16th wedding anniversary....
we were married on the front porch of the farm....with family and friends attending...
our son Joe and our nieces and nephews were the bridesmaids and groomsmen...
my stepdad Joe asked someone to go to the barn and get a pitchfork.....
then he snapped this picture as a joke.....it turned out to be
the one we liked the best ...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
it was a wonderful day at the farm.....we had some family come for a visit,
Ross mowed part of the yard....we picked 102 lbs of tomatoes....
got the camper back together for our upcoming trip...
canned 14 jars of greenbeans.....we only made it through half of the basket...
so we will be doing this again at some point this weekend....
....had Steaks on the grill and garden salad for dinner....picked the first of the
red salad onions....they were yummy!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
while we were picking tomatoes....we found this moth on one of the leaves...
Manduca quinquemaculata .... this is the name.....we just call them tomato hornworms...
the green worms are the ones that actually eat the plants.....don't understand the
entire process....but from what I read... these critters (moths) show up late summer, mate
and lay eggs for next year....I will look under the leaf where i found him to see
if there were any eggs on it ....if i find anything i will post pics tomorrow.
