today is my 250th post....I guess it is a good thing that I am still having

it has been a few weeks since we have both been home for a full Saturday...
lots of odd and ends jobs have to be done on the farm...

Today is our Grandson Ben's 11th Birthday...Love you bud!!!

made some 1000 island dressing ... everything except for the
sugar is made here on the farm...LOVE it!!!

cleaned every kitchen cabinet out...very exciting to take things you haven't used in
awhile and give them away........we have this place called
The Open Door Free Store in the town next to us.....very cool
concept.....you take whatever you don't need/use anymore and it
goes out on the shelves and everything is free...it is run by
several churches in the area...the storefront is donated as is the workers
time and energy....gotta LOVE everyone working together !!!

gotta keep it nice and toasty inside...

the forecast for tonight is 30 degrees.....can't remember it going below
freezing this early in October before...CRAZY weather....
I now have a garden of sheets/blankets.....
the tomatoes by the house are covered....
and the bell peppers and lettuce in the garden...
picked a bunch of stuff tonight in advance of the frost....
78 lbs of tomatoes
18 lbs of bell peppers
lettuce, watermelon, the last honeydew and some of the hot peppers
