BUTCHER DAY for the White Rocks...
15 of them made it......they are exactly 4 months old today....
here we are catching them one by one and loading them into the van..
we used the brooding bucket for some of them......
and a dog cage for the ones that were nursed back to health after being attacked by the others...
then Ross was off to the butcher with a van full of chickens....
and I was off to meet our son with a carload of grandkids...
CHICKEN STATS:
this adventure cost us $220.50....here is the breakdown
that is $14.70 per chicken
each chicken weighed approx 4.5 lbs
so that comes to $3.26 per lb
you can get it cheaper at the store...
but knowing everything about the birds from birth to butcher makes it all worthwhile
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
another 103 degree day....relief in the temperature comes tomorrow...but no rain is forcasted...bummer!
it has been a long/busy week....so leftovers for dinner and off to bed early!!!
Pleasant Dreams!!!
