got to 95 degrees today....they are forecasting isolated rain showers for the next couple of days....

if you look at the radar...it just seems to split right over the top of us......I do remember

the days when it rained heavy and all day long.....but it has been a LONG time...

got done with work around 1pm today and then went and got 4 of the grandkids,

now that they live right up the street, it is great to take them for several

hours when they can help around the farm, and give momma a break!

we started with planting the 3rd batch of lettuce, and the 2nd batch of cabbage

then off to pull the cabbage and get it ready for sauerkraut

before I took the kids home...they collected the eggs for today....

Friday is PIZZA night!!!!

tried a new Pizza Dough recipe.....it was quick (for a yeast recipe) and easy....



Pizza Dough :

2 1/4 tsp yeast

1 cup warm water (110 degrees)

1 1/4 cup cold water

2 T olive oil

1 tsp sugar

1 tsp salt

5 1/2 cup flour

mix the yeast and warm water in a bowl to dissolve....in another bowl....mix the cold water, oil, sugar and salt and whisk together......in the stand mixer with a dough hook.....put in the flour, turn on medium speed and pour in the cold water mixture....then the hot water mixture......go for 8 minutes.....place in a greased bowl ...covered in a warm area for about an hour....this will make 2 crusts...use them now or freeze them for later.....if you do freeze them....quick reminder.....turn the freezer bag inside out and spray well with oil....then turn it right side out and place the dough inside.
