had a busy day getting ready for Mom and brother Tim to arrive...then tomorrow morning early....Ross, Tim and I are heading to Mt Bethel PA to get caught up with the MILLER family roots.....we are very excited.  Mom will stay here at the farm and take care of all the critters...Thanks so much Mom!!!!

Ross is making steaks on the grill, baked potatoes, salad and broccoli cheese soup for dinner...here is the recipe for the soup.

Broccoli Cheese Soup:
1 Tbsp butter
1/2 cup chopped onions
- saute the onions in the butter and set aside
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup flour
2 Tbsp corn starch
3 cups half & half cream
3 cups chicken stock
10 oz fresh broccoli
1 cup fresh carrots
1/4 cup bacon bits
8 oz grated sharp cheddar cheese
salt and pepper to taste

cook the butter, half & half, flour and corn starch using a whisk over medium heat for a couple minutes....stirring constantly....add chicken stock and simmer for 20 minutes

add the broccoli, carrots and onions......cook over low heat 25 minutes....add cheese and salt/pepper
