loving this mid 80's weather we are having...and just fans in the windows at night

made some cookies for Ross tonight...

Molasses Sugar Cookies : (from Cecile Hubbard)
2 cups flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp salt

in a bowl mix these items together and set aside

3/4 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar

cream these 2 items together and add....

1 egg
1/4 cup dark molasses

beat this well and add the flour mixture.....you can chill the dough if you want....roll dough into 1 inch balls....  roll in white sugar....place on a greased cookie sheet

heat your oven to 375 degrees and bake for 10 - 14 minutes

they will flatten as they bake

we used this recipe when our house was in the H-H Historical Society Christmas Home tour in 2002

Pleasant Dreams!!!
