today at noon was the exact halfway point of 2012.......
it doesn't seem like we have been blogging for half of a year already
the heat 95+ is going to continue for the rest of the week and into the weekend....so we will need a plan for the chickens.....they are acting differently today....a little erratic......tomorrow I will hook up the sprinkler and turn it on over the yard area of the coop during the hottest part of the day and see if that helps them cool down.....in 20 years of being in Michigan I cannot remember a spring/early summer so dry.
as of today we have not had any of the chickens die.....normally we have lost 1 or 2 by this time...there is a White Rock (male) who has decided that he doesn't want to get picked on by this one mean rooster and so he has join the ranks of the Reds (females)...the girls don't seem to mind him being there.....so in the essence of peace in the coop...he can stay.

we lowered our American Flag today for a Michigan Soilder who was killed in action......
our prayers go out to his family and friends.
